Our Modified Approach

GreenPro Materials has modified its engineered soil division to better accommodate the ever-changing industry. The days of taking base components and mixing them together in proportions to meet a specific specification is becoming an ever-growing problem.

The main issue is the inconsistency of the loam and leaf compost, which is not mature and high in nitrogen. For many years loam was fairly consistent because of large residential construction projects and the need to remove large quantities of loam. Today with smaller projects the loam is of good quality, but inconsistent with each and every project.

GreenPro Materials

This inconsistency is the main reason the mechanical gradation is often an issue with engineered soils. Leaf compost is a good organic component for most engineer soils. The issue is maturity and higher nitrogen levels because of grass clippings. Often good leaf compost is used for larger projects, such as capping projects and large highway projects; this leaves a minimal amount of good compost for high-end landscape projects.

GreenPro Materials has incorporated a new method of producing quality-engineered soils for the landscape industry. We mix our base components at ratios that are targeted to hit a certain specification and produce 1500-3000 yards before testing. Once the material is tested, the material is marked accordingly. When the stockpile reaches a low volume, we produce more material and re-test. Each and every pile is also marked with the actual report from the testing facility. Any of the stocked modified soils can be sent for additional testing if needed.

GreenPro Materials will continue the full submittal process and sample process that is required on most projects. The new modified soils are simply stocked material with current and accurate testing. This new process will insure that the paper work matches the actual engineered soils you are purchasing for your client.
